Best on a moonless night, but our guide had a big tarpaulin that we all stood under, which gave the best viewing of the bioluminescence. It was pretty neat! Guides are well organized. Includes pickup & drop-off at your hotel.

Me and my girlfriend did this activity on our last evening in Isla Holbox and we really enjoyed watching this natural phenomenon. We were provided with excellent equipment and Alex was a funny and very informative guide. Everything was super well organised and we had plenty of time to enjoy the beauty of the bioluminescent plankton. We heavily recommend doing this activity and thanks again to Alex for an amazing experience :)

So happy we decided to so this experience. Alex was fabulous, communicative and we learned a ton. We are bringing our teenagers back to experience this amazing phenomenon. To note: i was a bit weary of going in the pitch black sea at first but once in, it was calming and Alex helped the group and was with us the entire time. Don’t miss out! Do it! We loved it!
I thoroughly enjoyed my trip with Alex as he was super friendly and fun to be around. He picked us up, made sure we understood the entire process, and even taught us plenty about ocean life and stars. I definitely recommend him to anyone wanting to experience the bioluminescence.
Alex was a great guide, making sure all on our group were taken care of. The time shifted to 3 am to avoid a near full moon. My teen girls were worried about the bugs and the muck you have to navigate but all worth it when the magic of these neon creatures comes to life. The weird timing almost made it feel even more special and fun! We learned that the blue luminescence is the most amazing!!
