Las Fragatas, Puerto Villamil, Ecuador
View on Google MapsWe went out on our own by bike and saw an incredible number of Galapagos turtles and iguanas. The wall of tears is impressive. We still climbed the mountain, as the path starts at the wall of tears. From up there you have a very nice view that is definitely worth it! We recommend doing the tour on a not too hot day, as it was very exhausting when the sun was so hot.
The story about what the prisoners went through is very sad because of the suffering they went through in those years, the wall is large and perhaps seems unstable, the walk is strong, it is advisable to go in light clothes and cover everything as the sun is very strong, carry enough water, preferably do the bike tour so you are not so exhausted
It is a recommended visit for those who wish to explore the history of the Galapagos beyond its biodiversity, combining culture, adventure and nature.

A story with a background that gives a lot of thought, represents suffering through punishment by heartless authorities for each of the prisoners. The tour is recommended to cycle for comfort and less tiredness
On the way to the wall of tears you can feel the high temperature of the sun, it was a long way to travel however during the journey you can make small visits of attractions such as the estuary, the tunos, the viewpoint, etc. The story involved in its construction is quite entertaining.
The experience in the wall of tears was very enriching for its story and tell us what life was like in the ancient Galapagos And how it was the evolution from being a military base of the United States since the Second World War to a prison in the government of Velasco Ibarra hence its total closure and see how the prisoners of this prison in many times later stayed to live in the Galapagos Islands equally the guide taught us a lot about the fauna and flora that is during this tour the heat was a little unbearable that we do not have many resources as is the water but it was an enriching experience that yes would do it again
The wall of tears has a deep history, it shows the suffering they went through there, the journey is heavy, you can enter on foot or by bicycle.
Wall of Tears is a historic place for the island, the walk for this place is quite strong due to the weather however the places you can visit along the way are amazing and completely worth it. We can find local fauna and flora along the way such as turtles, iguanas, lizards, catus, palo santo, etc. It is advisable to bring blocker, light but completely covered clothing, a lot of water and food for the road, this route can be done on foot or by bicycle. It is not suitable for people with mobile disabilities due to the distance and uneven terrain.
You can do this tour on foot or by bike, you can easily do this on your own, it was really recommended 9+ seen many turtles along the way, climbing the mountain with very beautiful views
