View on Google MapsIt was an amazing experience in the Amazon jungle… the crew Luis (owner of the tours), Franco the tour guide who spent the 4 days with us, Julio who drove the boat along the Rio’s showing us dolphins and more, Herman who was the Lodge keeper and Tatiana our Chef who cooked very tasty meals for us, were all great and made us feel at home. It is a ‘must’ experience to do in your lifetime to explore the Amazon by, dawn, by day and by night…to see the wildlife, the faun and flora of nature and of course the micro life happening at our feet. The experiences we had in the tour was really great and inspiring all the more because of the great crew who made it feel very special to us. Thank you Luis, Franco, Julio, Herman and Tatiana for making this experience very special to us but most of all for looking after us for these 4 days with such care and attention.
Saw lots of animals at all stages whilst on the Amazon for 4 days. Allen was amazing, encyclopaedic knowledge, range of activities.
Our guide Eduardo was amazing, very knowledgeable! Really makes you immerse into the jungle. Felt safe the entire time even at night. Really great people!
Such a wild experience. We had an unforgettable time with Amazon Wonder Expeditions. So many fascinating creatures. The wildlife, plants and local life were so special. Thank you to all the staff at the lodge for making our trip so enjoyable. We would highly recommend.
My partner and I did the 4days-3 nights amazon expedition with Luis (the owner) on17thof May to the 20th May 2024. Allen,Luis 's son picked us up from Iquitos and brought us to the lodge. He was an absolute gentleman and was very knowledgeable and gave us a run down of the activities we would be doing. Luis is an absolute gentleman also and is a keen eyed tour guide. On one excursion alone we spotted 4 sloths in the wild, a huge troupe of squirrel monkeys as well numerous wild and varied exotic birds with the help of local tribal lady named Lupe. We saw pink river dolphin and grey river dolphin on numerous occasions on multiple excursions. I loved the night excursions where we saw caiman and other nocturnal creatures. The piranha fishing was great fun also but I loved the monkey rescue center the most . Luis is a gifted tour guide and I would highly recommend this tour should you want to experience the amazon. The price is excellent and the accommodation though basic is perfect(its a lodge in the amazon to be fair) . The food is top notch and we ate a varied and delicious menu. Shout out to Pedro the lodge manager who had cold beers waiting each night and to Juan our boat driver . 10/10 would highly recommend. Brendan
We visited at the end of April and it was a great time. We were picked up at the airport by Allen and since we were a bit early we went for breakfast before we headed off. The entire crew was great to us. Allen our guide, Juan the boat captain and all the staff at the lodge. It was everything we expected and more. The trip highlights were the night tours with all spiders, frogs, insects and snakes. Also the trip to The Monkey Island. The dolphin watching was also a big hit. Allen is very knowledgeable and answered all of our many questions. The lodge was great. The rooms were clean and Americo was there anytime we needed anything. His Amigo Pepe was another highlight but you will have to meet him yourself to see what I mean. Rosa was an excellent cook. Every meal was perfect. We wouldn’t have changed anything. We will be coming back after we knock off a few other things on our bucket list. I highly recommend this company
Amazon Wonder Expeditions were absolutely fantastic and the highlight of our holiday in Peru. Prior to entering the amazon, our tour guide Luis picked us up from our hotel to the port, where we stopped by a local market selling weird and wonderful jungle food. From there, we hopped onto the boat for a few hours journey down the amazon river. The boat itself is open with a roof on the top - it’s spacious and breezy - perfect for a refreshing and relaxing cool down from the humidity and the sun. On arrival at the lodge, we were pleasantly surprised - a lovely community of cabins with a sociable dining area. The cabins are comfortable and spacious and each has a clean bathroom with a toilet, shower and running water for 24 hours a day. Electricity comes on between 6pm and 9pm - perfect to light up the community for dinner and the cabins after sunset. Our first night entailed a trek - this was a fantastic experiences. Ensure to take torches as there is no light pollution and the surroundings are pitch black. We came across tarantulas, poisonous spiders and frogs as well fireflies - a must do experience! Dinner was absolutely delicious - all meals were home cooked Peruvian food made by the ladies in the nearest village. This was best food we had during our entire trip and it was encouraging to give back to the local community. Our highlights of the tour were visiting the monkey sanctuary and playing with baby orphan monkeys, the incredible butterfly farm run by the local community, and visiting a second sanctuary where sloths, snakes and other animals were rescued. The trip itself was extremely well organised - even on rainy days both tour operators, Luis and Allen, would rearrange the trips to ensure we didn’t miss out. Both were extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the amazon and it’s nature, and this shone through immensely, engaging and stimulating us throughout. Groups were no large than 6 people so felt very personalised - they ate with us and became more like friends than tour guides, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Our safety was paramount to them - one of the other girls tour was unwell (she was unwell prior to entering the amazon) and both Allen and Luiz prioritised taking them back to the hospital in Iquitos city. It was encouraging to know that health and safety of the guests were prioritised above all. Allen and Luis run a fantastic trip - their passion and warmth shine through. We would 1000% recommend them to all.
