View on Google MapsWe had a very busy itinerary and had a second tour booked in the early afternoon. Changing to a private tour allowed us to leave a little early and ensure we arrived back at the Hotel in time for the second tour. The main activities were really the Hien Luong Bridge of DMZ and the Vinh Moc Tunnels. The tunnels are much bigger and served a different purpose than the Cu Chi tunnels near HCMC. Our guide was Thuan was very helpful.
If you want to know more about the history and see the events from a different perspective, this tour is definitely recommended! This is due to the locations visited in combination with the guide Mr Tan who explains the events from his own experiences.
We did a half day tour with a wonderful guide Linh. Linh is an intelligent, knowledgeable young woman who provided us with a very informative tour of the battle grounds of the ancient citadel, the demarcation zone and the Vin Moc tunnels. Linh provided us with a true insight into the experiences of the Vietnam people and the history they have experienced. Our driver was very competent and helpful too.

Hoa our guide picked us up at 9am from the hotel and then as we drove to 3 of the stops along the way she gave us an amazing insight into geopolitics from a Vietnamese perspective through the Indochina wars. Truly truly fascinating. We learnt so much and were able to fill the gaps in the knowledge we already had. We stopped in the middle of the DMZ but the highlight was the last stop at the Vinh Moc tunnels which Hoa took us deep into. Remarkable. We then returned to Hue for 3pm and over the 2 hr return Hoa played music from the war era. Highly recommend!!!
Mr Loc was a great guide! Full of energy and enthusiasm for the DMZ tour. 100% get on a tour with this man! He maybe 70 but has the youthfulness of a 21 year old. God speed Mr Loc.
We did the private tour to the Vinh Moc tunnels. Our guide was Mr. Loc, a veteran of the Southern Vietnam Army, and he did a great job!! We got much information about the Vietnam war. It was an interesting, impressive and an emotionally touching day.
If you want to know everything about Vietnam history, this is your tour. Very emotional to learn their stories.
Hoa (“Flowers”) was very knowledgeable and thorough regarding the history of Vietnam and the Vietnamese people. We felt that the half day tour was perfect and very much enjoyed each stop.
An excellent trip. Our guide, Thuy (? Not sure if i've spelled it correctly!) was very knowledgable and explained a lot about the war in Vietnam. The supporting maps were helpful in understanding. I was a teenager at the time of the war & as the UK was not involved in this, most of what we heard was from the American perspective, so it was very interesting hearing about it from the Vietnamese perspective. Crossing the bridge in the DMZ was a n interesting experience. The complex of tunnels was amazing it was so huge & difficult to imagine how a group of villagers could create such a thing. The car was very comfortable & the driver very good. Many thanks, also, for the thoughtful packed lunch & souvenier water bottles.
Really interesting and informative day. We were picked on time by Mr Loc who was our helpful guide. He had a great sense of humour and as a veteran had a unique perspective.
