View on Google MapsWe really enjoyed this private tour! The combination of the national park and Porvoo Old Town was perfect. Our guides were extremely knowledgeable and made the day both fun and informative. The highlight for us was enjoying a delicious lunch by a frozen lake. Everything was well-organized, and the pace was just right for our family. Highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Helsinki!
A wonderful tour to discover the beautiful Sipoonkorpi National Park with a short hike to the lake, learning about the different trees, berries & mushrooms. We heard a number of birds calling. Jeff & Maree then cooked a traditional Salmon Soup which we enjoyed by the campfire after a walk around part of the lake. Served with rye bread, it was a delicious lunch. The hot berry drink was also very nice. The visit to the old town of Poroo was equally enjoyable. We loved the colourful cobbled stone & brick roads & pavement and old colourful buildings. Jeff took us to the old Lutheran Cathedral, so much history. Coffee at one of the old cafes warmed us up, and we then visited a number of craft shops & a photographer’s gallery/shop & Brumberg chocolate/confectionary shop. Such a great fun day with 2 knowledgeable friendly tour guides in Jeff & Maree.
This was a private day including a walk in a national park near Helsinki, with a delicious lunch of salmon soup, followed by a trip to the village of Porvoo. Alex was our guide and we thoroughly enjoyed his company. He was attentive to our needs and desires. He is personal and friendly. The tour was exactly as described and kept to the schedule. We were transported in a comfortable vehicle.
This was a great day for our family of 4. Jeff is exceptional - made it fun and interesting. He also communicated well regarding the rainy weather and potential remedies. The hike and tasty lunch were really enjoyable even with a little rain. The Porvoo visit was a bonus. My college age “kids” loved it. Highly recommend!!
An amazing day in the park and in Porvoo! Our guide, Alex, was phenomenal and the lunch he prepared was delicious. It was a wonderful day and worth every penny. Highly recommend.
Walking in the national park was easy, informative and enjoyable. It was a peek into another aspect of the Finnish culture, including the salmon soup for lunch. Porvoo added history to the outing. All in all, it was a great way to spend the day.
Highly recommended! Jeff our, tour guide gave a very knowledgeable explanation of local plants in the national forest. The camp style lunch was amazing and we were able to hike a bit. Porvoo was a quaint village with interesting history and yummy chocolate!
Truly enjoyed this outing! After a quick ride to a national park, we were ready to set out on our hike in the forest. It was raining at the beginning and our guide was more than prepared with rain jackets for everyone. We learned about different types of berries, mushrooms and local plants. Then we took a walk around a small lake while our guide prepared a delicious hearty lunch. Next, we ventured to Porvoo to look at the church and the old town. There were lots of small shops and charming colorful buildings to see. This tour was a fun mix of of nature and history, and was an excellent day trip from Helsinki. Highly recommend it!
Jeff was a nice guy. And he knew a ton about the country and the wildlife. The natural park was beautiful and the small town was great. It was a very low stress and enjoyable day. Highly recommend.
I had a 10 hour layover at Helsinki Airport thus took the golden opportunity to explore its train services and also took a taxi to Porvoo Old Town. From the tourist information office, I took a cooling relaxing walk along the Porvoo River to Porvoo Old Town and Castle Hill. With the tourist map that I have gotten from the office, I have no trouble getting to where I want to be. The day was sunny and splendid, thus I was rewarded with clear mirror images of the nature, boat, building upon the river water surface. I cannot stop myself from taking great photo on it. As I wondered through the cobbled alley, I started to observe the tiny beauty of every part of it. It is surely a quiet and serene town. A great place where you can practice mindfulness and calm your mind. The shopkeeper there were very nice too. The houses are wooden built which gave me a village feel. Nearby is Castle Hill where you can have a great walk too.
