View on Google MapsDon’t go to Egypt alone or join a crowded group tour. Book a private tour guide instead. We were lucky to meet Ramses XII – an incredible private guide. He has a PhD in heritage conservation, has published two books (his third book on Egyptian women empowerment is coming soon). His English is perfect, his knowledge is encyclopedic, yet he’s extremely witty and subtle. With him, the trip wasn’t just a quick sightseeing tour — it was a real journey back in time.
Another 5-star review. Come on... Ramses and his driver, Yasir, guided us from the Cairo airport to the Giza Plateau, through the GEM, and finishing in the bazar at Naguib for an early dinner before back to the airport for an evening flight. I cannot think of Egypt without thinking of Ramses. He is humble, wise, funny, proud, energetic, caring, thoughtful, courteous, and ridiculously knowledgable, bringing both ancient and modern Egyptian history to life. I came to Egypt not knowing much or anyone and left with a deep sense of awe for its history, culture, and people. Thank you Ramses. Your love of your country and culture is fantastic and inspiring (He is working on, like, his 2nd Phd on Egyptian archeology, culture and history. Decades of study.) My family was very impressed with me for choosing you as our guide😉. You managed to make everyone -- from an 11-year-old girl to a 19-year-old young man to a couple of old folks -- very happy with your attention and positive energy and love of sharing not just Egyptian history and astounding facts but your personal history and life. . Thank you, my friend! Miss you! Please let me know when you get a 4-star review🙂
An unforgettable day – highly recommended! Our day with Ramses VII was absolutely perfect and without a doubt one of the most beautiful days of our lives. Ramses is incredibly kind and friendly, extremely knowledgeable, and truly passionate about what he does. He knows all the most amazing spots, especially for unforgettable photos, far away from the crowds. Everything was perfectly planned and organized — not a single second of waiting, just pure enjoyment from start to finish. You can really feel his experience and dedication, and we felt completely comfortable and well taken care of the entire time. We would do it again anytime — highly recommended! Thank you, Ramses, for this truly unforgettable experience!
We had the most amazing stay in Cairo with Ramses. He guided us on 2 days, one to the pyramids of Gizeh and the other to Saqqara and Dahshur. He has vast knowledge of the Egyptian civilization and is genuinely a really nice guy. We felt very safe and taken care of and everything was absolutely perfect. Thank you so much Ramses, we hope to meet you we again in the future.
An awe-inspiring tour with the best of the best guide. Words seem insufficient to explain this adventure. It truly was the most incredible experience in all of my travels around the globe. Being completely honest, I was slightly skeptical this was going to go as promised until it actually happened as it seemed too extraordinary to be true. The price appears high, but after understanding the cost to maintain and functionally run The Great Pyramids of Giza, it is a fair and understandable fee. About Ramses: he expertly handles all of the complicated bureaucracy and logistics. Ramses is a PhD and is a pure wealth of information on all subjects of Egypt. He is full of passion, energy, knowledge and wisdom with a fantastic sense of humor. We genuinely had the Great Pyramid of Khufu to ourselves after hours. Ramses guided us into the ascending passageway, through the Grand Gallery to the King’s Chamber, down into the Queen’s Chamber, and further down the descending passageway to the subterranean chamber. We were enlightened with his studied knowledge throughout our fascinating journey. It was a priceless experience to be in a marvel and world-renowned structure of ancient architecture - alone. It is a real and exceptional opportunity. If you are able, do it!
We spent about 7 hours with Ramses on our very first day in Giza, on which we had a custom tour tailored to our desire to see the Giza Plateau and the GEM on the same day. Ramses is a very knowledgeable Egyptologist and knows pretty much everything about all the dynasties and ancient Egypt. The full visit was packed with information and explanations that were a true pleasure. Ramses has very great communication skills as well as planning skills; thanks to his suggestions, we managed to enter the Khufu's Great Pyramid with virtually no tourists. There was a point where my girlfriend and I were the only two people at the sarcophagus chamber, and I learned that it was a quite rare experience in such a mainstream and important archaeological site. After the morning at the Giza Plateau, we headed to the Great Egyptian Museum, where Ramses made a great and detailed tour of the museum with lots of explanations and detailed stories. (The Tutankhamun wing was just amazing)... as Ramses put it, we felt like kids in a candy shop. Unfortunately, I had only one day available and I had to squeeze as much as possible, because it would have been amazing if I could have spent more time with Ramses and his very deep knowledge of the Egyptian culture. I absolutely recommend his guide, and if you have the chance to have more than one day with him, well, do it! It is just worthwhile. Thank you, Ramses, for the great time together. You truly are a living pharaoh.
I was looking for a unique view of Cairo and Ramses XII came up with an exciting and really wonderful day tour - unusual mosques, little visited sites, all done with easy professionalism. It was like traveling with a knowledgable and charming friend! And well-supported by King David our safest of drivers.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Rameses was an outstanding guide. He brought the pyramids of Giza, the stepped pyramid of Saqqara, and the ancient city of Memphis to life with knowledge, humor, and genuine passion. His storytelling made the history feel vivid and meaningful, and he made sure we were comfortable and engaged the whole time. Truly an unforgettable experience. Highly recommend!
We loved our tour so much we sat down and wrote a devotional poem to Ramses that evening! Ramses, guide of timeless sands, An archaeologist with steady hands, A historian grounded, clear and wise, A secular centrist with open skies. Beneath the pyramids’ towering might, He unveiled secrets etched in light, Deciphering glyphs with patient art, Breathing life into each sacred part. He wove the tales of burial rites, Of souls’ journeys through endless nights, Crafting stories rich and deep, Where history’s shadows gently sleep. Through winding paths and desert’s breeze, He tended to our needs with ease, A guardian of both time and place, Guiding us with knowledgeable grace. With Ramses, the past became clear, Ancient Egypt whispered near — A journey learned, felt, and known, In his presence, we were shown. We loved every minute, cant wait to be back again- his knowledge is second to none!
We had two tours with Rameses - Day 1 was a city tour of the Coptic & Islamic quarters. Day 2 was a tour of Giza and Saqqara. Both tours were excellent and demonstrated Rameses' expert knowledge. He tailored both tours for our Daughter (7) who struggled a little with the heat - lots of snacks and frequent breaks! Overall, I can't recommend Rameses enough! He's a star! Special shout-out to our driver, Yasser, who was always around the corner when we needed transport!
