View on Google MapsThe Kintsugi course was thoroughly enjoyable, and our teacher was very knowledgeable and interesting to listen to. I would highly recommend this to anyone interested in Kintsugi.
Very knowledgeable instructor and kept us entertained with stories about Tokyo history, places to eat and of course the art of Kintsugi. Very special experience
It was an amazing experience! I highly recommend taking time out to do this in Tokyo. The teacher was so calm and explained every part of the process in so much detail.

Infants and small children can ride in a pram or stroller, Public transportation options are available nearby, Suitable for all physical fitness levels, Traditionally, authentic Kintsugi requires a process that takes about a month to complete. However, in this workshop, we use synthetic lacquer instead of natural lacquer, and metallic powder as a substitute for gold, allowing participants to complete and take home their restored piece within 90 minutes., We recommend using the restored piece for decorative purposes only. Please also note that the repaired item is not microwave-safe, as there is a risk of ignition., Please note that the workshop venue may change depending on availability and the number of reservations. In the event of any changes, we will notify you by email with the new location details one day before the workshop., Wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty.
Really enjoyed the hour and half here! The host was a kind well articulated gentleman who gave an easily digestible history of the kintsugi art form before letting us try out a version of it made to finish something in less than an hour (versus months in the real kintsugi art form). The hosts helped in the more difficult aspect (cleaning, sanding, packing) and allowed us to do the easy gluing parts and fun/creative painting parts! Highly recommend for an enjoyable quiet short activity!
Great instructor, lots of history and information, and took home a beautiful work of art! Thank you for a meaningful experience.
My Wife and I did this as a memorable souvenir while on our honeymoon in Japan! It was a very fun workshop, learning the basics of Kintsugi, and we can't wait to display our pieces when we get home. They boxed them up very nicely as well, so they will make the voyage! Definitely recommend this if you're in the Ginza area.
The workshop was very interesting, we learned about kintsugi a lot. It was also very relaxing and fun to fix our own plate. I would recommend to discover something new and take a breath from the vibrating city sightseeing.
Amazing class, very therapeutic to slow down and do some kintsugi! Highly recommend doing a class in ginza. Thanks very much Tatsu!
Highly recommend doing this. As a gaijin living in Japan, I had not considered doing this until a visiting friend booked us in. Tatsu was our instructor, and he was both very friendly and spoke very good English. He explained the history of kintsugi (bringing broken ceramics back to life) and how he developed his knowledge, and spent considerable time with the six of us, guiding us with our creations. Tatsu and his colleague did spend a lot of time cleaning our initial repairs before handing them back and letting us use our artistic flair to finish them. I am already planning another visit!
This was fantastic. The master artisan was so thorough and delightful. The history coupled with the hands on creating - a must do
