1 Milford Sound Highway, Milford Sound 9679, New Zealand
View on Google MapsOur tour of Milford Sound exceeded our expectations. This tour company provides small group tours and avoids the lineups and crowded boats of some of the other tours. Our driver Allen picked us up in a Mercedes small coach that held 14 people and provided great commentary and frequent stops at points of interest along the way. We then got to our small boat with less than 40 people on it, so lots of room to move around between upper and lower decks. No lineups, no crowding. Perfect! As it happened, it was raining heavily that day, so we saw hundreds and hundreds of waterfalls. Beautiful!
Definitely the smaller boats for us as we got right up to the joy of the waterfalls, lovely spray of mist, with the sunshine, we got rainbows in the air through the falls droplets.
We’d love the fact that it was a small boat and the narrative was fantastic! It’s almost impossible to describe what we saw and what we experienced on a rainy day, perfect with hundreds of waterfalls highly recommend this company💕💕

Milford Sound is a mystical place when it rains and we had a lovely cruise with Milford Cruise. The crew members were very nice and the cookies were more than welcomed !
Shame about the weather! Cruise ok. I did feel that the boat went far too close to a fur seal sleeping on a rock (as did all the other boats we could see). I think you should give them more distance. People would still be able to take pictures using their zoom facilities.
Really enjoyed our trip. Great commentary although we needed to move away from the back of the boat to hear. Lovely to have tea, coffee and biscuits included. Very well organised. We were extremely lucky to encounter a pod of dolphins and the captain was happy to stop to let us really enjoy the experience with them,
Such an amazing way to see the fjord. Except the driver could spend a bit more time at the final waterfall but other than that still a 10/10
It was a very easy booking system and the website gave useful information of how to get to Milford Sound and the Check - In process. The boat had comfortable seating and was clean, tea and coffee making facilities were available and taking own food on board was permitted. The staff were friendly and efficient. The safety briefing at the start and the subsequent informative commentaries were given in a friendly manner which made them a pleasure to listen to. The boat stopped in certain places eg. waterfalls and seal colonies, to enable people to get a better look. It was a damp, windy day which made the waterfalls look great, but to go onto the outdoor deck for better viewing would be a challenge for anyone who was unsteady on their feet.
Nice and relaxed boat trip in the beautiful Milford Sound fjord. Free coffee and thee with cookies and allowed to bring your own sandwiches. If going by car from Queenstown, please allow for plenty more time to travel as the last part of the road is quite winding and foremost, you want photo breaks as the route brings you to beautiful views! It took us 6 hours instead of the 4 hours Google maps showed...
We deliberately chose a smaller boat to get the most out of this experience. And it was worth it. Captain Dan and Matej took us on “journeys”, gave us a lot of information and introduced us to “their” Milford sound – literally.
