If you are already knowledgeable you'll love it even more. And the follow up communication with a species list and links to more info was a huge bonus.
The night tour was excellent. We saw creatures we would never have seen on our own and learned interesting facts about them. Our tour guide Gianfranco was knowledgeable and enthusiastic. After the tour we were emailed a list of creatures we saw with pictures and links to investigate further.
We did the nightour with GianFranco, the partner of Tracie the Lady Bug. This is the best night tour that we could hope for in drake bay. Saw lots of insects, mammals and a great experience overall. Totally recommend it !

Tracy was out of action so we had Gian. He knows his stuff. He also knows his trail and what is likely to be where and he finds it. He then tells you lots about what you are looking at. If you wish, they send you a list of what you have seen with links to more information. So, if you want to see or know more about fishing bats, trapdoor spiders and much, much more, book this trip early. It does sell out.
It was a remarkable experience. Our guide was very skilled in locating and providing information about the numerous nocturnal creatures. Of particular interest was the bioluminescent scorpion and snake he found using a black light. I highly recommend this unforgettable tour.
The absolute highlight of our Costa Rica trip! This night tour felt like listening to your favorite professor give a lecture, the kind where you sit there with your mouth open, except it was fully immersive, happening in real time while walking through the trail! It felt like a BBC nature documentary unfolding around us! We thought the late hour might make us tired, but time flew by. Every moment held our attention, and we learned an incredible amount along the way. We absolutely loved the experience and would recommend it to all .
This was a must not miss if you’re in Drake Bay, Gianfranco led us for a mesmerising few hours sharing his authorities and academic expertise in a most engaging way. We saw such a range of insects and creatures of the night, just fascinating and highly recommended- Tracie and Gianfranco obviously are such subject matter experts who love to share their home habitat with visitors - we loved it!

We saw so many neat insects and animals. Our guide (the Bug Man, because the Bug Lady recently suffered a nasty leg injury) was incredibly knowledgeable and spotted many nocturnal creatures I would never have seen on my own. Definitely an experience not to miss!!
