Guna Mata Trek from Naddi Village – A Short but Rewarding Adventure History islinked to its role as a pilgrimage site for the Gaddi shepherds of Chamba of Himachal Pradesh. We started our Guna Mata trek from Naddi village. The route offers two options: you can either walk downhill or take a car up to a point near a stream, from where the actual trek begins. The total trek is around 4 km, which is quite manageable. From the stream, it took us about an hour and a half to reach the top. The first 40minutes were quite steep, but the moment we reached the temple, all the tiredness simply disappeared. The trail is beautiful, winding through serene forests and tall pine trees—an experience that truly makes the climb worthwhile. In total, the trek took us around 2 hours and 15 minutes. After returning to the starting point, we enjoyed hot tea and pakoras at a small, sweet restaurant near the stream—a perfect way to end the trek. Overall, it’s a short but wonderful trek that combines a bit of challenge with natural beauty and peaceful surroundings. It’s a great trek for beginners.
Our guide Mr Onkar is excellent. Friendly and informative. This hike is beautiful and spiritual. It is somewhat strenuous but not too difficult for most.

My wife and I had engaged the services of Himachal by Locals for our trek in Dharamshala. We had earlier planned for Triund but because of rains/snow rescheduled to Ganu Devi. We had an awesome experience during the trek. Our guide Ranjeet was very engaging and very knowledgeable. He was patient and very helpful. He kept us regaled with interesting stories about the place and the local customs. Overall, an incredibly exciting experience. Thank you to Mr Raj who provided us continuous guidance on the dos and donts, including rescheduling our itinerary because of the inclement weather. Tips: The Ganu Devi trek is moderately difficult. So pls go prepared. The first 2.5k is flat and downhill. Then there is an array of close of 700 steps, followed by 1.5k of moderately steep incline
