View on Google MapsVery organised. I was the only English speaking person on the tour, but the guide explained what was going on and translated as necessary. I visited early in the year when there were not too many people on the tour. This was good because the carriage wasn’t full. The views of the beautiful Atlantic forest were stunning, so I was able to take lots of photos, I also enjoyed the lunch and talking with the Brazilian people on the tour. They were so nice to me, it made the day even more special,
A really super nice train journey through the Atlantic rainforest in nostalgic cars. Be sure to book boutique class
The tour is stunning from beginning to end. The exit from the railway station was a bit tumultuous, but boarding the chosen wagon was wonderful. I made the descent by train, and the ascension, that is, the return, of the van. But both forms were captivating and inviting to an accompanied return.
It is always wonderful to join a nature-oriented trip, and this one is not different. But since brazilians are more used to the atlantic forest, the trip may be more impressive to foreigners. The part with panoramic views correspond only to a part of the trip. Antonina is a nice surprise to the voyage.
Excellent experience! Well complete tour with lots of information and amazing landscapes. Both cities are sensational for shopping and enjoying with your family.
It’s a well-organized ride through the “primordial forest” of Brazil on a train that travels with fantastically different wagons. Everyone gets their place by place card on a sofa or armchair. It goes slowly through the city of Curitiba, then steadily upwards. On the way, you can wait for freight trains. All in a charm of earlier decades or even centuries. You can see how hard it must have been to build the track. You can see nature taking back abandoned places. Panoramas are included during the ride. Unfortunately, the return trip is on the bus and there is a little too little time for the places. The special dish in Morretes is very good. The staff: very friendly. Information in English is significantly shorter than in Portuguese. Unfortunately, the car is sounded musically. Silence is something many people can't stand. Otherwise you could hear the animals of the forest when the train stops to let freight trains pass.
Knowing historical places is fundamental to our mental health. The tour provides this, relaxation and tranquility.
1 - informed that in the tourist wagon there would be water and soda. They did not inform that free for 4 hours of travel only a glass of water of 200 ml. 2 - They did not inform that to buy more water would have to be paid in notes. You couldn't pay either in card or PIX. As I had no notes I stayed for 4 hours, with heat of 37 degrees with only a glass of water of 200 ml. 3 - In the purchase of the tour was not correctly informed the differences between the categories of wagons.
The pick up was 25 minutes late with no communication. No excuses given we were the only ones picked up. Then we were given a stick on badge and told the boarding started at 8, the train leaves at 8:30 off you go. No one told us we had to collect a boarding pass in the station or indeed volunteered any other information. Despite booking a tour with English speaking guide the aforementioned guide’s English was rudimentary at best. The train journey itself was no great shakes - most of it was spent string at the vegetation which blocked most views. On arrival at Morretes we along with around 1000 other people were disgorged into a series of buses and coaches to go for lunch. Lunch was actually better than expected but nothing special and was very rushed. A short stop in Morretes (again, not enough time), was followed by a visit to a model potted history of the region. Finally a pointless visit to Antonina which resembled a ghost town with an ice cream parlour where the tour guides and bus drivers got their freebies. Overall, we were made to feel like intruders who could be ignored as foreigners on a Brazilian tour.
We were met on the train by the guide and then returned via minibus to Curitiba with stops in Morretes for lunch, which was great and Antonina. Personally, I would have swapped a stop in Antonina for more time in Morretes or a stop at a roadside cafe will a look at the view as we gained elevation on the drive.
