View on Google MapsI visited Pantanal Safari end of October 2025. First 3 nights spent at a lodge/ranch which was very good. This was followed by a 4 night stay on a house boat. The wildlife in Pantanal is like nowhere else on the planet. Beatriz was very helpful with communication and organizing the trip. Herley was an excellent guide, always cheerful and enthusiastic. Brazilian mangoes are so tasty. Would love to go back some day.
I can’t recommend this company highly enough. I have just spent the most incredible 7 days on one of their Pantanal safaris. From the start they have been great. I made my initial enquiries 10 months before my trip and Beatriz was always very quick to respond and so patient with my numerous questions. However where I really struck gold was in being allocated Herley as my guide. From the start he was amazing -so friendly and funny and also kind and patient. I am quite arthritic and find getting in and out of boats etc quite difficult but he was always there to help with a big smile. His knowledge and respect for the Pantanal and its animals and their behaviour is outstanding. He always seemed to know after a Jaguar sighting if it was worth waiting around or moving on. Our boat captain “Professor “ was so skilled in manoeuvring the boat so that we always got fantastic views. Herley seemed to have a great rapport with the other boat captains and guides and they all seem to work co operatively which is great. All in all in 3 days on the river we had 12 Jaguar sightings including one hunting a caiman and swimming across the river right in front of our boat. We also saw the giant river otters helping their young to climb the steep river bank . It had been my ambition for over 25 years to visit the Pantanal so my hopes and expectations were very high. However my trip with this company far exceeded them. Thank you !
It was awesome, even more than I expected. Our guide, Tito, was excellent and very sharp, he managed to spot jaguars repeatedly and also spotted other animals thanks to his alertness and sharpness of vision. We saw jaguars every day and I can't count how many times, but it happened more than I expected, that's for sure. We also saw other animals including anacondas and cute capybaras. The driver of the speedboat named Ronaldo was excellent and made an effort to ensure that we could see as much as possible. The crew on the ship was polite and the attitude was pleasant.
I joined the Pantanal Jaguar Safari for a 6-day tour and it was an unforgettable experience. I stayed four nights on a floating hotel by the riverbank and one night at a nice lodge. Every day we went out on a fast canoe, exploring the rivers in search of wildlife and birds. The trip was very well organized, and everything was taken care of. The floating hotel was comfortable, the food was great, and our guide, Tito, made the whole experience even better. He knows the area so well and always seemed to know exactly where jaguars might appear. More than once we ended up being the first boat at a quiet spot, only to see a jaguar suddenly emerge from the bushes. We saw jaguars every single day, with a record of 11 sightings in just one day. We watched them resting, walking, swimming, mating, and even hunting. It was far beyond what I ever imagined. I’d recommend this trip to anyone who wants to see jaguars up close—it really felt like almost a guarantee.
Great communication from the office staff. Due to a flight cancellation our 6 day tour became a 5 day tour, but the office staff gave us suggestions on where to stay and arranged for our tour to start first thing the next morning. We were picked up on time by our guide and started our trip to our first hotel in the Pantanal. We did not realise that when two hotel stays are arranged, the day of check out/check in is not a full day boat tour (as per brochure) but half day of traveling by car and half day boat tour. The activities planned were well organised and our guide Herley was always on hand to help us out. Herley is a very knowledgeable guide and pointed out countless animals along the way. The boats used for the tours are high quality and the drivers were excellent. Our boat driver Sergio and Herley always got us into the right position for us to get the best photos of the animals. Our guide joked that we would see 20 jaguars in our time on the river, and we saw 16 in 2.5 days. Our only disappointment was the drive from our lodge back to the airport. On the way in our guide had informed us that people who drive too fast on the Pantanal road kill the wild animals, and on the way out he was driving at 80km/hr in the dark on the dirt road where it was meant to be 40km/hr. Once we got onto the bitumen he was driving 120-130mk/hr in a 80km/hr zone with some dangerous overtaking manoeuvres that did not make us feel safe. Otherwise the tour was great, well run and worth the money.
This was a most fantastic trip that I have ever experienced in South America. We are a group from China including 6 people and booked 5-day Jaguar tour in this company. The boat is only for 6 of us. A small enough group that everyone got what they wanted - when you consider that we saw a number of boats with more than 17 plus passengers, that turned out to be very important. With our professional guide Herley and captain Ronaldo, we saw at least 6-8 Jaguars every day and we stopped counting Jaguars because there are more interesting things to do same as collecting Jaguars, such as watching toco toucans, blue macaws, Jabirus, Black-collared Hawks,Tayras, iguanas, snakes,Caimans, tapirs, sport Marsh deers, Agoutis, king vultures, capuchin monkeys, howler monkeys, many many beautiful birds of various species than I could count. This was definitely in large part due to the skill of our guide and captain , absolutely fantastic Herley and Ronaldo they are jaguars whispers. If at all possible, ask for them! I highly recommend this trip.
This was a great trip. I stopped counting the jaguar I saw at 12… I’m guessing we saw 20 in the five days we were on the water. This was definitely in large part due to the skill of our guide, Harley. He was absolutely fantastic, a real ‘jaguar whisperer’. Our boat operator was Ronaldo, and I swear he could thread a needle with that boat. Between the two of them, they knew exactly where we needed to be, and got us there every time. If at all possible, ask for them! The boat we were on held six passengers; my first day I was alone, the second day there was one other guest, and the remaining days there were five of us. A small enough group that everyone got what they wanted - when you consider that we saw a number of boats with *17* passengers, that turned out to be very important. In addition to jaguars, we saw river otters, hundreds of caiman, capuchin monkeys, howler monkeys, an anaconda and more beautiful birds of various species than I could count, all of which Harley seemed to be able to identify. I highly recommend this trip.
What an incredible experience truly a holiday of a lifetime and great memories. The wildlife is everywhere and close too and Herley our guide knew the area and animal movements so well so we saw more than most!!
This trip with Pantanal Safaris was a memorable one. At the outset, it was rather difficult communicating with Pantanal Safaris, perhaps due to the language barrier. This aspect needs improvement. However, the tour was very well organized. I stayed at the Pousada Santa Rosa at Porto Joffre for three nights and Pousada Piuval for two nights. Both these places were satisfying in terms of cleanliness, comfort and food. The highlight of the trip was the two full days spent on the Cuiaba River. My guide Tito was excellent. He is born and raised in the Pantanal, and is therefore extremely knowledgeable about the wildlife of the Pantanal. He positioned the boat really well during our jaguar sightings, and had a keen eye for all the denizens of the Pantanal, both large and small. Travelling on the river for two days was a learning experience for me. Tito was also very helpful at the Pousada itself, explaining the food that was on offer and giving company at meal times, since I was his sole guest. The land safaris at Pousada Piuval were also illuminating. It was a treat to see the giant anteater and the tapir among the nocturnal animals of the region. Guide Erley was also very competent. Overall, I highly recommend Pantanal Safaris for the competence of the guides.
I am still getting caught up only 2 weeks after our return. My wife and I teamed up with trip leader Helen Blazis and had a fantastic time with Fabricio and Renaldo as they guided us to intimate encounters with jaguars, which was our primary focus. I am an award-winning photographer and was greatly interested in photographic opportunities for not only jaguars, but for the multitude of birds in that region. The trip did not disappoint and in fact exceeded our expectations. The boat was captained by Ronaldo who expertly positioned us for encounters with jaguars along the shoreline. Their boats are powered by very powerful 90 HP engines that purr and are very quiet. This makes it possible to keep noise down and enhance wildlife viewing opportunities. The engines can crawl through the backwaters, and wildlife can be seen around every meander. Fabricio is a guide with wonderful sensitivity to people and their needs. He had to adjust things on occasion and always found a way to make it happen and keep guests comfortable and informed about things. We really appreciated his kindness and attention to detail as we shared this journey together. The accommodations are adequate, but do not expect the Hilton in this remote area. Food was outstanding with a great variety of meat, fruits, vegetables and breads. If mammals are of interest, the nightime spotlighting drive was really amazing. We saw Giant Anteater, Crab-eating Fox and other wildlife along the drive. Caimans are everywhere and will provide close encounters. Thanks again to Fabricio Dorileo and staff and Helen Blazis for memories that will last a lifetime.
