We had an amazing time. We did the monkey tour and zip lining, off road buggies, snorkelling, diving, horseback riding, waterfalls, jet ski, stand up paddle boarding, swam with dolphins and met a sea lion. Richard was amazing, friendly, accommodating and looked after us both very well. I cant recommend Richard and the team any higher,,,

We booked a SUP tour in Feb. Eric Tours (Lotta) picked us up at our lodgings and transported us to Sosua. They had had quite a morning - the overnight torrential rains had flooded their office and the owners (Richard and Lotta) had been up since dawn mopping and bleaching. I commend them for not cancelling altogether ! - but then the waves in Sosua Bay were quite rough so Richard suggested a river venue instead - basically backtracking to where we had come from and then beyond. I'm sure this detour and what he added on took a lot longer than what we had contracted for. The river was very calm which was better suited to us even though we had done it before. Then he added on a stop at an unbelievably beautiful and informative local botanical farm and small "zoo". The owner Ruddy gave us an impromptu tour, discussed his views on the island ecology efforts and school volunteering to spread his nature ideas for the island. So cool! This was an unexpected pleasure! Richard was a great guide - informative and funny to boot! Do it! meg and steve
Während meines Aufenthalts in der Dominikanischen Republik im Ort Sosua habe ich mehrmals Stand Up Paddeling mit Eric Tours gemacht. Dort habe ich das zum ersten mal überhaupt ausprobiert. Früh morgens ist das Wasser schön ruhig und die Windrichtung stimmt, sodass es das perfekte Timing für SUP ist. Richard und das super freundliche Team von Eric Tours berät einen aber gerne und kann aufgrund von Wetter-, Wind- und Wellenprognosen einen immer sagen, wann der beste Zeitpunkt zum SUP ist - also fragt einfach kurz davor :) Bevor man zum ersten mal raus geht gibt Richard einen eine kostenlose Einführung ins SUP und zeigt einem erstmal im Trockenen die verschiedenen Techniken. Das ist fürs erste mal viel Information, aber auch wenn es dann ins Wasser geht, gibt er einem dauerhaft Tipps und hilft einem dabei den Dreh rauszukriegen. Wenn die Gruppe mehrsprachig ist, macht Richard die Einführung auch ohne Probleme in mehreren Sprachen. Je nach Gruppengröße ist neben Richard noch ein anderer Guide dabei. Generell gilt: je öfter man es macht, desto leichter ist es auf jeden Fall, aber auch schon beim ersten Mal kann man (wackelig) auf dem Board stehen. Wenn Wetter, Wellen und Wind mitspielen ist es auch möglich Sunset-SUP zu machen und den Sonnenuntergang vom Board aus zu sehen! Auch hier gilt: am besten direkt fragen, wann die Bedingungen hierfür gut sind. Wer will kann auch während des SUP auch noch schnorcheln gehen. Richard nimmt dabei die Schnorchelausrüstungen mit. Also es gibt viele verschiedene Varianten. Mir hat besonders das Sunset-SUP gefallen. Aber das Beste ist: Bei allen SUP-Ausflügen werden tolle Fotos gemacht, die man danach bekommt! Also ich kann nur empfehlen, dass bei Eric Tours mal auszuprobieren! Freundliche, professionelle Arbeitsweise und super viel Spaß! :)
