Damajagua Waterfalls with Lunch from Amber Cove and Taino Bay

Javi and his wife Sol from "Javier Tours" were amazing! They greeted and welcomed us with smiles. Such warm and beautiful people. It was my first time in the Dominican Republic (Taino Bay Puerto Plata) and I was unfamiliar with the cruise port. Javi provided his personal number to make sure I was able to find him past the port taxi stand by Gate 5. Communication was excellent even days prior to the excursion. Javi drove us to the Damajagua park in an air conditioned van, provided water and beer. Upon arriving we followed the park guides which stayed with us the entire time. Helmets and life jackets are included with the park entry. Lots of upwards hiking on rocky terrain. If you are not used to going hiking, have breathing or heart issues this may NOT be for you. Two friends traveling with us could not complete the hike and had to turn back with one of the guides. Bring good water shoes (sneaker like) don't buy cheap ones. Also sunscreen and bug spray will be handy. The slides were amazing and the water was refreshing. Keep in mind the slides are natural rock formations hence the need for safety helmets. Javi kept our personal belongings safely locked in the vehicle, but locker rentals are also available at the park. Everyone from the bus ride to the park and back were alot of fun and very attentive to us. This excursion included lunch before returning to the cruise port which was super yummy. Would I do this again...? Absolutely!!

Best experienced ever. It's an organic and authentic loca tour. They are very responsible and very warm. They brought us lunch after the activity and always kept us hydrated with water and cold President's. 100/100. Highly recommended!

Javi Tours is the best!!! The water falls were so much fun!! The guides there are very helpful!!! Also, with Javi Tours, you don’t need to rent a locker, because we could keep our things in the van. I do recommend buying the photos at the waterfall. It is well worth it. The photographer stays with you the whole time. Be prepared to hike to the top. They provide water and there are rest spots with benches. It was a great day making memories with family. We were spoiled by Javier and Francisco and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them if you are wanting to do a tour with them!!

Amazing experience whith Javier great service 100 percent recommend he way for the group out side the port terminal and take us to salto demajagua on a private van where they have water and sodas waiting for as to get we wend on a 12 people group and always feel safe he stay whit us all the time also he provides and also lunch also took us to the beach and to the downtown area in puerto plata we enjoyed or excursion whit javier

Despite the area recently experiencing severe weather, which led to the cancellation of most excursions by our cruise line, Javier provided an unforgettable experience for our family. Thankfully, we trusted our instincts and continued with our original plan. Javier greeted us warmly and quickly ushered us to our pre-arranged vehicle, fully stocked with refreshments for both adults and kids. Our day was filled with adventure and discovery. We toured the beautiful city of Puerto Plata, enjoyed thrilling buggy rides, and cruised along the beach. Javier was not only an exceptional guide but also a fantastic photographer, capturing memories for us throughout the day. His deep knowledge and love for his city shone through as he shared its rich history and culture, making the experience even more enchanting—especially impressive considering the recent storm. Javier yours was beyond fantastic! What a real tour of culture and life in the area. We did horseback riding and it was an experience we will not forget! Riding along the beach was spectacular! We stopped at multiple other places in the city and an authentic Dominican restaurant for some great food! It was beyond the best. We are a family of 6 with 4 kids 12-19 and there was something for everyone! They had us back in time for our departure from the port and will be using them again in September! I would recommend 110% of the time!
