View on Google MapsTransylvania is much more than the dark images that movies left an impression in our memories. It has beautiful snowy mountains, lovely medieval and colorful cities, stunning castles, charming brown bears, forests, corn fields with crows, delicious food and the list go on. Choosing to visit these places with a knowledgeable guide will add a lot to your experience of the region. Better yet if the tour operator accepts booking of solo travelers as is the case of Wise Transylvania tours. Adrian will provide you not only a tour showing you the main sights, but also will give context to understand what you see and connect the dots with history and culture in a very passionate way. He knows every tiny detail of the places we visited, for example the arrangement of the tiles in one of the castle’s towers. This attention to details turns sightseeing into an unforgettable experience. I booked Corvin Castle & Sibiu - private tour from Brasov and had an amazing day. Didn’t have to worry about the logistics to get at these places, just sat in the car and enjoyed the scenic views, stories and conversation along the way. I learned a lot about Transylvania, Romania and even the juicy details about Vlad the Impaler family. Vlad’s father it’s a really interesting evil character and deserves to be more known. First, we visited Corvin castle – a gothic jewel. It has all you imagine in a castle: moat, dungeon, towers, views to the landscape. We visited ALL rooms that are open to the public. After, we headed to Sibiu. It looks like a fairy tale city. So charming with those colorful houses with eyes. During our walking at the city center there was some drizzle, so we focused more in the indoors visit at the Lutheran Cathedral. Had gorgeous views of the city from the church tower. After we walk at the famous Bridge of Lies and the main square that was been prepared for the Christmas Market. As the previous reviewers I highly recommend taking any of the tours provided by Adrian. You’ll have such a great time with someone that clearly loves what he does and that enthusiastic approach transpires in the experience he offers. If you are considering to visit Transylvania book a tour with Wise Transylvania and you’ll be glad you choose to do so. If I come back to Romania, I’ll for sure book another tour with him because the experience was stunning.
A Once-in-a-Lifetime Transylvanian Experience — Truly VIP from Start to Finish This was, without question, one of the most exceptional travel experiences I’ve ever had. From the moment we were picked up, it felt less like a tour and more like being shown Romania by a close friend who genuinely loves his country and wants you to experience it at its very best. We traveled in complete comfort in a spacious Mercedes Sprinter, with bottled water provided, thoughtful snack stops, and plenty of flexibility throughout the day. The drive itself was unforgettable — winding through the breathtaking Carpathian Mountains, made even more special by our guide’s incredible storytelling. His deep knowledge of Romanian history, including fascinating stories about Vlad the Impaler and the region’s past, made the drive fly by and added so much richness to the experience. Our first major stop was Corvin Castle, and this is where the tour truly felt VIP. We skipped every line and went straight in — no waiting, no crowds. Our guide personally walked us through the castle, connecting what we were seeing to the stories and history he had been sharing during the drive. Corvin Castle is absolutely stunning and easily one of the most impressive Gothic castles I’ve ever seen, and having it explained in such a personal, engaging way made it unforgettable. Peleș Castle was unlike anything you will ever see, my absolute favorite! Nearby, we stopped at a small local spot where we tried a traditional Romanian flatbread/pastry with sweet toppings — one of those authentic, unexpected moments you would never find on your own and one of my favorite memories of the day. From there, we continued on to the beautiful medieval city of Sibiu, known for its iconic “houses with eyes.” We spent several hours exploring its cobblestone streets, historic center, and remarkable churches, including the Orthodox and Lutheran cathedrals. Our guide shared local stories, hidden details, and cultural insights that brought the city to life in a way no guidebook ever could. Everything was perfectly paced — time for photos, wandering, questions, and simply soaking it all in. Lunch was another highlight. We were treated to an absolutely incredible meal at our guide’s family’s restaurant, which was hands down some of the best food I had in Romania. The warmth, generosity, and pride they took in the food made it feel truly special. Later, we also enjoyed another delicious meal at a local restaurant, giving us an even deeper taste of Romanian cuisine. What truly sets this tour apart, though, is the guide himself. He is incredibly knowledgeable, but more than that, he is kind, warm, engaging, and genuinely passionate. He made us feel completely comfortable from the start, welcomed every question, and treated us like friends rather than customers. He seems to know everyone everywhere — doors open effortlessly, lines disappear, and the entire day flows seamlessly. It honestly felt like a private, insider, VIP experience. Every detail was thoughtfully handled, from timing and comfort to food and flexibility. This was not just sightseeing — it was an immersive, personal journey through Transylvania with someone who clearly loves what he does and takes great pride in sharing it. If you are considering a private tour in Romania, do not hesitate for a second. This experience was worth every moment and then some. I would recommend this guide without reservation and would book again in a heartbeat.
Adrian is undoubtedly the best guide I’ve had the pleasure of encountering. He was not only punctual and friendly, but he was also incredibly knowledgeable. The experience was like touring with a friend… who also happens to be an encyclopedia of knowledge and culture. Would recommend him to anyone! Thank you, Adrian. -Joel, Irina, Oleg, and Aurelia.
I had a three day tour including Sibiu, Corvin, Bran, and Peles Castles, Viscri, Biertan, and Prejmer. Adrian's knowledge of the history, people and places is extensive and he shares it all in the most engaging manner. He is wonderful to spend time with ( I don't say that about many people) and was very flexible, arranging my tour so that I had time to travel from Sibiu to Sighisoara on my own where he picked me up a few days later to complete my tour. Adrian chose the final day's itinerary and I couldn't have been happier with the areas he chose. One of my most memorable trips thanks to Adrian.
Corvin Castle is a must-see for anyone visiting Romania, and experiencing it with Adrian as our guide made it unforgettable. He is passionate about his work, deeply knowledgeable, and truly a master of his craft. From the moment we met him, he was warm, welcoming, and funny, with a gift for storytelling that brought centuries of Romanian history to life. The drive from Braşov gave us a chance to see the beautiful countryside, and Adrian used the time to share fascinating insights about Romania’s past and present. By the time we arrived, we understood the castle’s historical context so much more deeply, which made exploring it even more special. Because it’s farther from the main tourist hubs, Corvin Castle wasn’t crowded, and we were able to take our time wandering through its halls, towers, and hidden corners. Adrian went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and enjoying ourselves throughout the day. After our visit, he took us to Sibiu, a charming town full of history, stunning churches, and vibrant squares. A climb to the top of the clock tower was the perfect way to end the day with a sweeping view of the city below. This was easily one of the highlights of my trip to Romania. Adrian’s kindness, honesty, and passion turned what could have been a standard tour into a truly memorable experience. I cannot recommend him highly enough. If you’re considering this tour, book it. You’ll walk away with not just great memories, but a deeper appreciation for Romania’s history and culture.
The tour to Corvin Castle and Sibiu was absolutely wonderful! Everything was very well organized, from the transportation to the schedule, which made the whole day relaxing and full of discoveries. Corvin Castle is truly impressive, rich in history and legends, and the guide managed to bring each room to life through captivating stories and lesser-known details. In Sibiu, I discovered a stunning city, with remarkable architecture and a unique atmosphere, which I would not have understood as well without the guide’s explanations. It was a complete experience: history, culture, and breathtaking scenery. I wholeheartedly recommend this private tour to anyone who wants to discover the beauty of Transylvania in an authentic and comfortable way. Definitely a 5-star experience!
This is the best castle in romania, and sibiu is gorgeous. We loved the drive through the country side too.
This was a wonderful trip filled with breathtaking views and delicious food. I wanted to visit both locations without worrying about planning or logistics, and this tour was the perfect solution—everything was expertly organized and coordinated. It was a long day, leaving Brașov at 8:00 AM and returning around 11:00 PM, but it was absolutely worth it. Adrian is a skilled driver and a true expert in history. His deep knowledge made the journey safe, informative, and entertaining from start to finish. Corvin Castle is one of Romania’s most remarkable castles, and its stories are simply captivating. Sibiu is a fascinating city, full of charm and character. We explored the stairways and passages connecting the Lower Town and Upper Town, toured the iconic squares, and visited both the impressive Lutheran Cathedral and the Holy Trinity Cathedral—beautiful representations of the city’s multicultural heritage. On our way back to Brașov, we stopped in Făgăraș. The nighttime view of the castle from outside the moat was stunning—like something out of a fairytale. Travel Tip: There’s a lot to see and plenty of walking involved, so wear comfortable shoes and be prepared for a full day. This tour is perfect for history lovers, architecture enthusiasts, and anyone wanting a deeper look at Transylvania’s treasures. I’d absolutely recommend it to friends and family. Thank you, Adrian, for an amazing experience!
I did alongside my family this tour and it was really awesome! The places are stunning and Adrian is the best! I could not recommend him more.
We had such a great time on our first tour with Adrian that we booked this one too—especially since visiting Corvin Castle was a dream of mine. Adrian was fantastic: knowledgeable, professional, and super friendly. The castle was absolutely breathtaking, and Sibiu was full of charm and history. We really appreciated the relaxed pace and personal feel of the tour. Highly recommended if you're in Brașov and want a memorable day out!
