View on Google MapsMartina gave us an insight into architecture and its relationship to the history and lives of people in the GDR. Excellent. I recommend her and I'll visit her again, I'm sure.
Such a great experience! Filled with lots of historical information, but also architectural details and backgrounds that make you want more. I'll think back on it for a long time
Also this tour of B&B is super exciting and informative! I see these places now with completely new eyes! Martina has a wonderful way of telling the small and large developments of the former Stalin Avenue. Highly recommended tour!

I joined the tour regarding the history of Stalinallee (Karl Marx Allee today). The tour was excellent — very interesting and informative. The guide shared fascinating history and details that really brought the area to life. The two hours went by quickly, and I truly enjoyed it. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to understand more about Berlin's history and architecture.
The explanations as to how this boulevard came about were fascinating. In the beginning, c. 1952, the construction was indeed a project of the people. A history lesson, as I would have liked in school.
Was highly informative and entertaining. The wealth of knowledge of our tour guide Martina made it a fascinating experience.
Martina brings a depth of historical knowledge, passion for the subject and a sense of humour to her tours. The tour left us with a new understanding of a most complex period. For those with a serious interest in history don’t miss this opportunity with Beyond and Above tours.
This was one of the best walking tours I have ever done. Named “Broken Utopias” when I did it, Marina gave a wonderfully prepared and thematic talk on life, architecture and politics in post WW ll. It was fascinating. Marina is knowledgeable, funny, super organized and kind. I look forward to doing another walk with her next time I am in Berlin
I went on a historical tour of the Hansaviertel in Berlin with Luis, and it was absolutely fantastic!! Luis is not only incredibly knowledgeable but also deeply passionate about the city’s complex and layered history. His ability to bring historical facts to life through vivid storytelling stood out. I particularly loved discovering buildings I had never noticed before, despite having walked past them many times. Thanks to Luis, I gained a new appreciation for the role of international architects in the postwar reconstruction of the area—from Le Corbusier and Oscar Niemeyer to Pierre Vago. Understanding the vision behind these projects added a whole new dimension to my experience of the city. What I appreciated most was how naturally he transmits his passion—his enthusiasm is infectious, and it genuinely draws you in. His detailed explanations of monuments, architecture, and historical moments made everything feel meaningful and connected. Highly recommended if you're looking for a thoughtful, enriching tour experience in Berlin different from the most common ones.
A wonderful tour !! I was in Berlin for the weekend and has a great visiting moment thanks to you ! A really complete presentation throughout history, and a really nice moment with a guide taking care of everyone in the group. Thanks a lot !
