View on Google MapsAlbert was knowledgeable and responsive. During the boat ride and at Lamanai, our guide Brenda was terrific—well informed, kind, with a nice sense of humor and a well-paced tour. So glad we did this tour with this group!
Our new favorite excursion when we cruise to Belize! Our ship tender process was delayed but our tour leader waited for us. We felt safe the entire day. We were well cared for and relaxed while having a fun adventure with nothing to worry about. The river cruise was my favorite. The Mayan ruins were amazing. Our guide educated us about the ruins and the river wildlife. Ian took special care to point out the most interesting things.
Friendly tour guide, family made food service, great quality! Would definitely recommend this for family! Including infants and toddlers!

The boat ride was so exciting and memorable for us. It was so much fun. The temples were very impressive.
Learned a lot about the Mayan culture. Tour guides were great. Lunch was good and boat ride was pleasant.
Booking Albert was one of the best decisions of our holiday. Excursions at our hotel were overpriced and lacklustre but Albert was the complete opposite: professional, friendly, informative and genuinely passionate. We learnt so much about Belize, its people, culture and places. Communication was brilliant, he was on time and we booked him for a second day that was also great!
When I contacted Albert about some tours, he set us up for this one. He was prompt when he picked us up, shared information when as we drove north from our hotel and was with us the whole way. He arranged for us to join a regular river tour which stopped to point out wild life, give a history of the area and of Lamanai. Once we got there, we had a wonderful tour of the ruins and there was plenty of water to stay hydrated. A great lunch was provided with some free time before heading back. It was a full day tour and totally worth it.
Albert and Dean were exceptional to work with in planning our trip. Albert answered my many questions and really went out of his way to make sure that we got a great tour and were back at the airport in time for our flight to Ambergris Caye. They picked us up right on time and Dean took us out for the tour. they even help out bags for us and dropped us off at the airport for our flight. The company they partnered with for the river and site tour were awesome as well. A very well run and friendly group to work with and I would highly recommend them.
It took me a while to post this 2nd review as sadly TripAdvisor didn't allow me to do it for the 3 months after I posted my previous one here called Trip with Albert to Xunantunich - needless to say we took 2 trips during same week with A Plus Adventures and despite 6 months going by I believe people like Albert need these reviews and deserve to be known as they are the great people who share their country, history and culture with people like me, like you, like us. Similarly to our other trip with A Plus Adventures, Albert picked us up from our resort and we did about 45-minute (from Belize City) drive in his SUV where then he "transferred" us over to another nice gentleman who was our both, the boat captain, and the tour guide through the New River tour and the magnificent Lamanai - I have reviewed Lamanai separately if you are interested, here I will just say a dream come true it was, enjoyed it way more than Chichen Itza and despite being completely different I would compare it joy wise close to visiting Matchu Picchu - Belize is an extremely underrated place when it comes to Mayan ruins and may be that's the beauty of it, fewer people know about it leaving all of these amazing places virgin and greatly untouched! The tour itself includes thus the round trip drive, the round trip boat ride, the entrance fees to the Lamanai park and of course the tour guide is included in that - an excellent value. You can get to Lamanai just by the car but we thought that the combo of boat ride and the walking tour were a truly great combination. Take some sunscreen with you, and some water as while it's nice and breezy on the boat (sunny though!) it's very humid and hot within the forest/Lamanai sites. Lastly, an excellent lunch was included in the tour - very tasty home made food prepared by our tour guide's wife :) Highly recommend this company and this excellent tour - it's a full day full package, you won't regret it!
Everyone should travel to Belize. The tourism industry is back! We came to Belize for a scuba diving trip and went on several land excursions too. Yesterday we had the best tour of Lamanai (the Mayan ruins in northwest Belize). At 8am, Albert Alvarez (from “A Plus Adventures Belize”) picked us up from the Radisson in Belize City and we drove about an hour to pick up Amir Reyes (local tour guide for Lamanai) from Tower Hill Village). From there we drove through the Mennonite community and farmland. Albert and Amir taught us about the variety of cultures found in Belize. Then we passed the small village of Indian Church (population of 236 people). When we arrived in Lamanai, we had the whole place almost to ourselves. Amir gave an excellent cultural and historical tour as we walked through Lamanai. It was great taking pictures of all the Mayan ruins without any other tourists getting in our pictures. Really an amazing experience. After that, we had a delicious lunch at Las Orquideas Restaurant in Indian Church. And on the way back to the hotel we made a quick detour to see trucks filled with sugarcane pulling into the sugar processing plant. Albert and Amir were both very friendly, knowledgeable and enthusiastic about sharing their knowledge of Belize with us. Overall, it was a great tour and a great day. Everyone should come visit Belize and book a tour through A Plus Adventures. We’ll be returning soon.
