1 Rte de Dijon, 21700 Nuits-Saint-Georges, France
View on Google MapsExcellent. No tour of the vineyard or process which is fine by me as I’ve seen it many times.Instead we got a detailed education on burgundy wines - region, types, vines, etc. We then tasted several wines-without pressure! Able to compare and contrast the different wines through relaxed conversation with Jean.Jean was very passionate and polite. We stayed for almost 3 hours given how good it was.Thoroughly recommend.
We did several wine tastings on our trip to France, and by far this was our favorite! Not only was the wine great, but Jean is clearly very passionate and knowledgeable about winemaking. He took the time to really dive into the history of the region and the details of growing grapes and winemaking. He answered all our questions, I learned more than any other tour I’ve been on. We were there with our baby, and you don’t always feel welcome with an infant, but Jean was so hospitable and made us feel at home! Jean is the winemaker and tends the fields and gardens, which we liked much better than the tours at the larger estates where it’s a hired tour guide. The sheep were also very cute! Don’t be intimidated if you don’t have a car, it’s about a 20 minute walk from the train station, and is a short train ride from Dijon or Beaune. I can’t recommend this tour enough!

A very pleasant moment. The explanations concerning the different varieties and hillsides of the region are provided as the discussion progresses and are an integral part of a fun and friendly exchange. Really far from a long monologue. You feel that you are received by a person who loves his job. In addition the wine is excellent. Thank you again Jean for a great time. (I hope the sheep are okay!) See you soon
Experience at the top! Jean shared his passion with us. The place is very nice and very nice. The tasting is just as complete and interesting as the rest of the tour. Again Jean showed a very high availability. He answered all our many questions, and it was a real moment of sharing. Thank you Jean it was really great, to the pleasure!! We will think of you while tasting our Marsannay!
We had a great time thanks to Jean. Through his passion for oenology, he allowed us to discover this magnificent region through history, culture and geology. He is exciting, we could have stayed for hours to discuss with him. We couldn't have been better received. We tasted excellent wines. This experience was perfect from every point of view.
I thought I had already written a review for this tour but don’t want to miss the opportunity to express how we feel about the experience. The tour of the grounds of Dufouleur estate was interesting and Jean made us feel very much at home on his property. Jean’s knowledge of the region was helpful in understanding the various grape varietals and the resulting wines. We are frequent travelers and have experienced numerous tours and tastings and rate this experience amount the most informative and enjoyable. We highly recommend this tour.
My wife and I just returned from 10 days in France. We were lucky to spend time with Jean and have an incredible experience. He was so personable, relatable, and genuinely kind and interested in us. The grounds were beautiful! The information before the tasting was very informative, and we learned a lot about the Burgundy (and surrounding) region! To top if off, all of the wines were so fantastic! Out of all we did in our time in France, our time with Jean is at or very near the top of our list.
Absolutely the best wine experience I can remember. Jean is passionate about wine and its connection to the earth hence the importance of good agriculture. Tasting was amazing with a wide selection of wines and we all had great discussions around each tasting. I will return!
We had a personalized tour with Jean. He is very personable and knowledgeable about the history of the area and wine making. During the wine-tasting portion of the tour, he explained how the terrain and weather affects the type of wine produced and why the wines tasted differently. Jean is very passionate about the "terroir". Highly recommend,
Super nice tour. We were first shown around the site where we were told all about the biodiversity and its conservation on their site. Like let the gravel path and grass path become. Inside we got a very detailed explanation about the Burgundy and the different terroirs etc. We got to taste beautiful wines, and were able to take the wines we chose directly home. All in all a very personal, extensive tour with a very enthusiastic Tour guide.
