View on Google MapsKawah ijen is known as a blue fire that attracts tourists to visit the crater ijen not many that have a blue fire that exists in Indonesia except in kab.bondowoso Jawa east and which has only two countries in the world the first is in Indonesia and the second is outside the Negri
It was a memorable experience. Everything was very good and profesional organized, the guide (sorry, I forgot his name) was one of the friendliest people I ever met. The ascent was very difficult for me as I got a cold a day before, but I managed and didn't regret it.
The driver Sugi was very friendly. During the trip, he saw that I was dying and took the initiative to help me share the weight. I am very grateful to him. Finally, I would like to thank him for helping me, a foreigner, to take a bus in Indonesia.

Le partage de la randonné avec le guide plus voir les flammes bleue magnifique parcours je suis resté émerveillé devant ça
Very nice meeting with Den and Sugi really very funny very nice. Once after walking Mount ijen we arrived at our destination and we could see the blue flames thanks to Den a really respectful guide kind we could take beautiful pictures thanks to him thank you Den and Sugi for everything
The owner and his partner are very friendly at Osing Inn. The room is very clean yet basic with a fan and free coffee/water/tea is welcome, you will appreciate it. There is a warung on walking distance if you want dinner. The shower and toilets are clean and what you expect at this price. Beware, the tour starts around midnight and you will be back at 8:30AM. I did it without sleep and felt disoriented - my own fault of course. Gas masks and lights were of good quality, they also provide one water bottle and plastic rain cape when it rained, and goggles to protect your eyes The hike goes as following: a few hours going up the vulcano, sometimes pretty steep (locals even offer rides with carts if you're too weak), you descend the crater for an hour (slippery when wet, give way to the mine workers and don't fall off the path), stay around 30min down where you can see the blue fire (I didn't see it, maybe because of the rain I guess) and there's a lot of fumes from the pipes they put there, go back up the crater for an hour, see sunriss (it was cloudy/misty, couldn't see the lake until it cleared up a tiny bit for 5 minutes), bit disappointed but I knew I was visiting in bad weather conditions and took prace with it. Yes, this activity is not 100% safe. The sulphur smoke can catch your breath, I even read reviews on a blog about someone panicking which I could understand. People cough, eyes are a bit irritated, the path down to the crater is dangerous yet doable. I liked the experience even though I didn't see the lake perfectly and no blue fire. It opened up my eyes what the people of Banyuwangi are doing in the mines. Please respect them, buy their souvenirs and see it as a donation... Recommend going there! But please don't bring your kid (there was an 11 year old boy in my group) and know you're on your own risk because your guide passes 3 warning signs that tourists shouldn't go down the crater.
I would like to thank Kampung Osing Inn for being able to arrange everything for me and my friends despite we called them only 1 hour before the recommended departure time to Ijen (0030hrs). Our tour guide, Mr. Deden and driver, Pak Mat arrived at our homestay on time to make sure we had sufficient time for the hike. Here, I would like to thank Mr. Deden again. He briefed us through and made sure safety is the utmost priority. He is one of the friendliest tour guide I've ever met and very passionate about his job. Another plus point about Mr. Deden is he's a good photographer and he knows the spot where you can snap instagrammable photo safely. Thank you Mr. Deden and Pak Mat for making this an unforgettable experince.
