View on Google MapsOur trip to the Mitai Māori Village and Wai-O-Tapu Thermal Wonderland was perfect. The cultural insights at the village were captivating, and the geothermal activity with its colourful pools and surreal, lunar-like environment was absolutely intriguing. The entire tour was a fantastic experience, made even better by our guide, Karthik. He was incredibly friendly, dedicated, and entertaining, offering impressive expertise.
Highly recommend you request Karthik as your tour guide. He provided excellent information during the trip that made the 3 ride both enjoyable and educational. The Māori performance was quite entertaining as the performers and hosts gave an authentic show. And, the FOOD! Served buffet style, was quite plentiful and tasty. The trip to the Waitipi geothermal park was very fascinating. I just wish the photos could provide the true “aromas” we experienced! LOL. Even though the ride out and back was three hours each way, it was well worth it! Overall, I highly recommend this tour and Karthik as your guide.
I joined a trip with Marty in Rotorua, visiting the Māori village and then the geothermal site. The guide was approachable and friendly, and shared some interesting history about New Zealand. The food at the Māori village was very tasty, and the haka performance was both informative and deeply cultural, which I really enjoyed. At Wai-O-Tapu, we got a good view of the various geothermal features. The strong sulfur smell was noticeable, and since time was limited we could only follow one route. It was also quite hot, but still an impressive experience. The air conditioning on the bus wasn’t working very well, and at times the guide spoke a bit too fast, which made it harder to follow. Otherwise, it was a good experience overall.
Karthik was an excellent guide. He is extremely knowledgeable. I strongly recommend him .
The tour was amazing. Staring with the Mitai Village, the show great. The group is taken around the historical village and sacred springs to see how the ancient tribe lived and learn some of the history of the navmtive Maori. Then, the family puts on a wonderful show full of haka, dances, weapon demonstrations and music with traditional instruments. Finally, you sit down for a yummy lunch buffet. The geothermal area was also fun. It was crazy to see how the activity cratered the area and how the different mineral deposits in each area made the rock walls of each sinkhole and the waters and muds of each bubbling pool different. None of the trails are too difficult, though there are lots of stairs in the last area. I'm glad the weather held out long enough for us to experience everything.
Our tour guide, Karthik, was fantastic! While our drive was long, it was expected, and he had information on every aspect of our trip pertaining to the areas we passed through in New Zealand. We first went to Rotorua for the Mitai, Māori, cultural experience. This included Māori dances along with a visit to an authentic Māori village. That was followed by a delicious buffet. After this, we drove to the geothermal pools and the mud pits. Both were wonderful and exciting to see. Alas our tour was over and we had to head back to Auckland. We booked this through our hotel and it was well worth the expense. There are many, many things to see and do in Auckland and its surrounding locals, but this was a great trip. My wife and I highly recommend this.
Our trip from downtown Auckland to Rotorua was nice and smooth. Our driver/guide, Karthik, was very knowledgeable and provided detailed information about New Zealand the country, its geography, geothermal activities around rotorua. Our stop at a Māori village , including lunch, was very pleasant. The walk in Waiotapu thermal park was great. Overall, we had a nice time.
I came with my wife from Spain to visit New Zealand. This is the first tour we did and Im not sure if we will get anything better. I would give it a 10/10. We spent the whole day doing activities, the guide was explaining every detail from the beginning to the end. The vehicle we were travelling in was extremely comfortable. Perfect temperature and comfy seats. Not many people on it. It was all very dynamic and fun. Cant say a negative word. Loved the Maori dances.
I recently took the Rotorua Cultural & Geothermal Tour with Karthik from Experience Kart, and it was fantastic! We visited bubbling mud pools, hot springs, and stunning geothermal landscapes, plus enjoyed authentic Māori performances. The drive from Auckland to Rotorua was beautiful, and Karthik made the trip even better with his deep knowledge of New Zealand’s culture and history. He handled everything smoothly and kept us comfortable with drinks and snacks. This tour was a perfect mix of iconic sights and hidden gems. Highly recommend Karthik for an unforgettable experience in New Zealand
What a great trip it was for me and my friends. We visited Arataki Cultural and Heritage Visitor Centre then Piha, the black sand beach. The beautiful landscapes of the Waitakere Ranges was breathtaking. And finishing our day with a sumptuous meal at a winery what can I say. Genuinely the trip was very unique and a memorable one for us. All made possible by experienceKart. The van provided was very spacious and comfortable, plenty of room to stretch our legs and ample space for our belongings. Back up snacks and water at every stop and not forgetting the luxury of having free WiFi all the way. Karthik himself was very punctual, on time every stop as per the plan. Had a wealth of information about the cultural and historical aspects of country Aotearoa to share. Highly recommend to everyone the services of ExperienceKart. Many thanks to you Karthik for the dedication and passion you have in making every trip joyful and unique. Please keep doing so. Satish Brisbane.
