View on Google MapsIf you love wine, history, and authentic experiences, this is the tour for you! Our day touring wineries in Alba with Elenora from Amanda’s Wine Adventures was truly unforgettable. We visited three exceptional wineries, met passionate winemakers and staff, and learned so much about the region’s rich history, winemaking techniques, and the challenges they face. At each stop, we enjoyed generous tastings of outstanding wines, including Arneis, Dolcetto, Barbera, Nebbiolo di Langhe, Barolo or Barbaresco - each showcasing the unique character of Piedmont. One of the highlights was a fabulous meal at one of the wineries, perfectly paired with their wines. Elenora was the ideal guide - warm, knowledgeable, and attentive. She provided wonderful context throughout the day, ensured we traveled safely, and made us feel like part of the Alba family. I would recommend this experience to anyone, whether you’re a wine enthusiast or simply curious about the region. It’s an absolute must-do in Piedmont!
We had the best time/day with Elenora from Amanda’s Wine & Adventures! Amanda and I communicated 3 months before our visit and she planned out a wonderful day from our conversations. We started the morning with a truffle hunt that was amazing… 2 black truffles and 1 white truffle our dog found. Then we did some wine tasting in La Morra that was very thorough of the region (impressive). We had lunch at a small cafe in the countryside that was delicious! In the afternoon we visited a local winery, met the owner and his son for a tour and tasting. My wife even managed to get some shopping in and bought a few gifts for the family. Overall, a truly wonderful day and great experience!

What an absolute delight! We had two days with Eleonora who is not only passionate and knowledgable about wine, food, and the Piemonte region, but is also friendly, engaging and easy to talk to. Highlights were the truffle hunting, cheese tasting, Piemonte tajarin for lunch, and of course all of the delectable wines. Booking and communication with Amanda were seamless. If we are lucky enough to return to the area, we will definitely book another adventure!
Great experiences to learn more about Italy's culinary and wine history. Amanda and her team were responsive, knowledgable and incredibly friendly. They even helped us with translating and doing other "research" for us during our stay in Italy. Highly recommend. We did a truffle hunting tour and a wine tasting day with Alexa. She was so sweet, timely and took us to the best enoteca for a wide variety of wines to taste, a delicious lunch, and a small wine maker's vineyard. The next day, we had a cooking class in Barbaresco at a family home - so fun! Highly recommend booking experiences with Amanda's Wine Adventures - totally worth it.
We had a really enjoyable day out. combining a truffle hunt with a winery visit in the Barolo region. Our guide, Alexa, was knowledgeable of the area, and particularly its wine. One of the big plus with Amanda's Wine Adventures is its willingness to work with us to craft our day which included a pick up and drop off at our hotel. Great fun, great day with a great guide.
Our tour with Amanda was amazing! Her local knowledge & contacts gave us a genuinely local and tailored experience. Our small party included someone in the wine industry and Amanda matched their experience level & wineries perfectly. The local Osteria was fab too. Made you feel like a local 😊
We had the most incredible two days with Amanda! It was like traveling with a friend who took us to all of the under the radar, but absolutely fantastic wineries that we would never have discovered on our own. She arranged everything perfectly… Our transportation, our winery visits, our lunch reservations, even shipping wine back to the United States. Amanda saw to every detail and I can’t recommend her more highly.
We did a one day wine education and tasting trip with Elinora and visited Canelli, Asti, Barbaresco, and Nieves. This included a drive right through the farm roads of several vineyards so we got a very close at hand view of the terroir. That was then followed by a traditional lunch at an excellent bistro well off the normal tourist beaten paths. Amanda organized a one day itinerary which was arranged around other visits we had scheduled during our two weeks in Piemonte and my wife's preferences for Italian white wines vs reds due to migraines. Elinora was extremely personable and knowledgeable and gave us a tremendous amount of contextural and factural information about viticuture and wine making in the region. Piemonte and the Langhe Valley in particular is the most beautiful wine growing region that we have been has to be the most beautiful wine growing area we have been to ..... the wines are exceptional quality ..... and there are no crowds. We loved our day and would absolutely recommend booking a day with Amanda's Wine Adventures.
We thoroughly enjoyed this day tour. Our guide, Eleanora, was excellent - very informative, enthusiastic and well-mannered. The arrangements were seamless. Both wineries we visited in Barbaresco- Peitin, and in Borolo, Diego Conterno were fabulous - each different in scale and approach, but showing an obvious passion for the philosophy of making beautiful wines in this remarkable region. The wines we looked at were brilliant. The small restaurant at the foot of the tower in Barbaresco was exceptional, good fresh and regional. Excellent pasta, and salads. HIghly recommended.
Our experience with Amanda's Wine Adventures was top notch. We booked a two day excursion (one day Barbaresco, one day Barolo) for two couples . From the very beginning Amanda was responsive and showed a true interest in customizing our adventure to match our interests. My emails to set up the two days were almost always responded to within 24 hours, usually sooner. We ended up with 4 tastings, two lunches, and walks through towns of La Morra and Serralunga D'Alba. We ended our two days with a Grappa tasting which included a tour showing how Grappa is made. This was an interesting experience and one I would recommend even if you do not care for Grappa. Our guide both days, Eleonora, was engaging, extremely knowledgable, and exhibited a true passion for showing us around. She picked us up at our hotel in Alba each morning and the vehicle provided was spacious and comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed spending two days with Eleonora and our experience would not have been the same without her infectious enthusiasm! Thank you Eleonora! In addition to providing a great experience, Amanda and Eleonora took care of collecting and shipping our wine purchases back the U.S. The wine arrived in good order, less than three weeks from our departure from Piedmont. One of the optional items we selected (and a highlight of our entire trip) was lunch at the home of a local couple. The food was amazing; roasted vegetables from their garden with two sauces, homemade gnocchi, two homemade zucchini dishes (the zucchini parmigiana was a favorite of mine). There were other dishes too, all excellent but I cannot remember them all, I regret not taking pictures of each dish we were served. We ate out on the large covered balcony of their lovely hilltop home and the dining experience was enhanced by the amazing views from the balcony. Lunch was capped by homemade hazelnut cake (hazelnuts from their garden) with gelato, and homemade limoncello. You could not ask for a more memorable experience. If you are planning to spend time in Piedmont wine country I highly recommend giving Amanda's Wine Adventures a try. My only suggestion for Amanda is expand the forms of electronic payments she accepts.
