Last minute we decided to book this Safari tour and via our Hotel contacted the organization. Made an appointment to pick us up at the Hotel. The driver was exact on time and took us to the park. We saw a lot off Elephants and also water Buffalo’s. The driver had to work hard, due to the fact that the road in the park was very heavily damaged by the recent water flood. But he managed to show us as much as possible wild live and brought us save to the Hotel back.
We had a great safari tour with tour guide Kumar! He took us to the best places to spot animals, and so we were treated to at least 20 elephants (with little ones)! Even though we sometimes missed a bit of information about the animals and the parks, we enjoyed the unspoilt nature of which we were allowed to be a part. The local lunch was definitely icing on the cake, where we got to help with cutting vegetables and cleaning rice. What a wonderful day!

We had a wonderful elephant safari experience with Minneriya Safari & Taxi Service, and it was clear from the outset that our driver genuinely cared about doing things the right way. What we appreciated most was that he did not simply follow the crowd of other jeeps. Instead, he made a real effort to keep some distance, allowing us to enjoy quieter moments away from the congestion. This made the experience feel far more natural and respectful, rather than rushed or staged. He was also very mindful of the elephants themselves. Rather than parking in their path or forcing an interaction, he positioned the vehicle in a way that allowed the elephants to choose whether they came closer to us. This approach felt ethical and considerate, and it made the encounters even more special when the elephants did decide to approach. Overall, he gave us just enough proximity and time to truly enjoy the experience without overdoing it. Calm, respectful, and well-judged, it was exactly how an elephant safari should be. We would happily recommend Minneriya Safari & Taxi Service to anyone wanting an authentic and thoughtful wildlife experience.

Had a great time! Saw quite a few groups of elephants and felt like the guide was really trying to give us an experience away from the many jeeps that was just for us, in nature. They also communicated well in advance on where and when was the best time to see the elephants so we could optimize our trip time.
We booked the safari just one hour in advance, and everything was organized quickly and very professionally. The park is absolutely beautiful, and the animals are amazing. We saw a lot of elephants, and our guide, Tharidu, was super professional, friendly, and very knowledgeable. He showed great respect for the animals throughout the experience. Highly recommended! A must-do experience in Sigiriya.
